Job Title – HSE Coordinator – Ref:2018-035

  • Assist company divisions with day-to-day support as an SME on all issues relating to HSE;
  • Provide HSE support in the preparation of tenders and in the pre-contract stages of new contracts and during external audits;
  • Produce HSE reports, presentations and communications, including statistics and KPI’s;
  • Maintain COR registration, audit schedule and client/contractor prequalification systems
  • In support of the DOS, develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, and processes.
  • Participate in Sunwest Aviation Safety Committee;
  • Oversee Safety Department tasks with respect to WCB claims, and work with HR and relevant managers to maintain the safe return to work program;
  • Monitor current project work scopes and ensure HSE support is available;
  • Schedule, conduct and track internal safety training as required;
  • Maintains databases and administrative documents to satisfy regulatory agencies requirements. These include online client platforms, internal training records, and other HSE records.
  • Provide hands-on facilitation of the Joint Health & Safety Committees as an advisor;
  • Audit bases and remote work locations as required;
  • Oversee the Vehicle Safety Program; including administration of Fleet Complete, Hours of Service, driver’s files, violations, driver training and Journey Management;
  • Inspect, monitor and evaluate HSE programs for value and effectiveness and audit HSE programs and site conditions at all work sites;
  • Administer Company Safety Orientation and safety training for new employees and update training to existing employees as required;
  • Administer the WHMIS program, facility inspections and PPE training and maintenance.
  • Coordinate and maintain the Hazardous Waste Management program.
  • Maintain trainer certification and training program for internal training requirements like respiratory fit testing, fall protection, and HSE equipment.
  • Other related duties as may be assigned
