Charles (Chuck) Bertrand

Current role with the Company: As the DFO for Sunwest Aviation, Chuck is responsible for ensuring that all Flight Operations at the company are conducted safely and in accordance with the current regulations, standards and air policy.

Chuck attained his high school diploma from l'Ecole secondair Sieur de Coulonge in Fort-Coulonge, Quebec in 1989. He joined the Canadian Air Force in 1990 and flew T-33 and F/A-18 aircraft until 1999. From 1999 until 2000, he worked at Commercial Aviation in Timmins, Ontario flying the Navajo Chieftain and Cheyenne IIXL aircraft. From 2000 to 2003 he worked at Skyservice Airlines flying the Airbus 320 and A330 aircraft. In 2003 until 2006 he worked at the Emirates Airlines flying the Airbus 330 and A340 aircraft. From 2006 to 2007 he worked at AirSprint flying the Cessna Citation Excel. Chuck joined Sunwest in May, 2007 as the Manager of Flight Training. He was promoted as the Manager, Flight Standards in January, 2008, then Manager of Flight Training & Standards in June, 2009, and finally promoted as DFO in July, 2010.

Chuck's personal interests are skiing, hockey, softball and hiking.
